As part of the Pittsburg Old Home Day Celebration, the Connecticut River Artisan Group will be organizing and sponsoring a People's Choice art show, featuring the work of area visual artists.

The event is open to anyone who would like to participate. Artists will need to complete and submit a registration form no later than August 8th. Artists may drop off their original art work at the CRAG tent, in the park near the church, between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m., the morning of August 15th. Each artist may submit up to three pieces for inclusion under these eight categories:

• Oil Painting
• Watercolor
• Acrylic
• Drawing- pencil, charcoal, pastel
• 3-D - (wood carving, sculpture, legos, etc.)
• Youth Category (High School and Jr. High School)
• Photography- (2009 theme Landscapes- only photos of landscapes.)
• Fiber Arts-(needle point, cross stitch, etc.)

Professional judges will be called in to judge works, and will announce the winners by 12:00 noon and ribbons will be awarded. As well as professional judging, Visitors to the exhibit will vote for their favorite piece, in each of the eight categories. Judging will be open to visitors from set up until 1:00 p.m. and additional awards will be given in each category and displayed until the end of event.

Artists should be prepared to leave their work on exhibit until 3:30 p.m., but should make arrangements to remove their work no later than 4:00 p.m. All participating artists will be asked to sign a release of liability, which will be included with the entrance or registration form. Special Note: With regards to photography category, please note that Old Home Day photography contest theme is children. Therefore, CRAG will not be accepting any photographs that include people.
